Helldivers 2 voice chat is on but I can’t hear anyone, what am I missing?

Helldivers 2 voice chat looks enabled, my squad icons move like people are talking, but I cannot hear a single soul. Game audio is fine, Discord is fine, headset is fine. It is only in-game voice that is dead. I checked the obvious volume sliders and they are not muted. I can hear explosions, bugs, democracy, everything except people. Anyone fixed this without reinstalling the game?

This one is usually Windows routing the voice channel to the wrong device. Do this: 1. Right-click the speaker icon in Windows. 2. Open Sound settings. 3. Set your headset as both Default Device and Default Communication Device. 4. Open Volume Mixer while Helldivers 2 is running. 5. Make sure the game is not routed to your monitor or controller audio. 6. In Steam, check Voice settings and select the same mic/headset. 7. In-game, toggle voice chat off, apply, then on again. 8.
