Palworld controller not working on PC, what settings should I use?

Palworld does not detect my controller on PC. The controller works in Steam Big Picture and other games, but Palworld acts like it does not exist. I tried reconnecting it mid-game and that did nothing. Is there a Steam Input setting that fixes this?

Close the game before changing controller settings. Hot-plugging does not always work. Try this: 1. Close Palworld. 2. Open Steam Library. 3. Right-click Palworld → Properties → Controller. 4. Try Enable Steam Input. 5. If that fails, try Disable Steam Input. 6. Restart Steam. 7. Launch Palworld with the controller already connected. 8. Unplug extra controllers or virtual devices. Xbox controllers often work best with Steam Input disabled. PlayStation controllers often need Steam Input enabled.
