The Finals black screen with HDR enabled, is there a working fix?

The Finals launches into a black screen when HDR is on. I hear audio, my PC is not frozen, and alt-tabbing sometimes flashes the menu for half a second. If I disable HDR in Windows it works, but I actually like HDR in other games. Is there a way to stop The Finals from freaking out?

That sounds like HDR + fullscreen handshake breaking. Try this: 1. Disable HDR in Windows. 2. Launch The Finals. 3. Set display mode to borderless. 4. Match resolution and refresh rate to your desktop. 5. Turn off dynamic resolution while testing. 6. Close the game. 7. Enable HDR again. 8. Relaunch. If it still black screens, delete/reset the game config so it stops forcing the bad display mode. Also update monitor firmware if your display has known HDR handshake issues.
